I used to smuggle roadkill into the house despite my mother's preference for flowers.

 

Jane Wilson-Howarth mother, physician, author and zoologist, is an authority on travel health. She has lived in the East for long enough to be able to say diarrhoea in nine Asian languages. So far five novels (four for children) and five of her non-fiction books have been published as well as around 300 articles on travel and health plus tales published in several anthologies.

    How to Shit Around the World

    This is a very interesting book written by a physician. The advice is sound and many of the anecdotes are laugh out loud. My favorite was the one about the ziggurat of colonic filth.

    A Glimpse of Eternal Snows

    I read this book in almost one sitting. Even stopping for a cup of tea seemed a distraction. It is a sad tale but ultimately very uplifting. It shows the nature of love and loss. It is written by author who loves Nepal and this shines through. Brilliant book.
