She noticed him across the room. He was ruggedly handsome, though she guessed he wasn’t aware of his good looks. He hadn’t taken any trouble about how he was dressed. Maybe he had that self-confidence and didn’t care what people thought of him. That evening she didn’t care either. She didn’t do this kind of thing but took a deep breath, smoothed her wild hair, put on her best smile and strode over. ‘We don’t know each other!’
